Why Metal Bunk Beds
So, why would you want to choose a metal bunk bed over a wooden one? Well there are some good reasons. Generally metal bunk beds are cheaper than wood bunk beds, and can be just as durable, meaning that often a metal bunk bed is better value than a wooden one. A downside to the metal bunk bed is that they are not quite as versatile asthetically as wooden bunk beds, and they can struggle to fit in with kids bedroom designs. Some people feel that they can appear a little clinical, or prison cell like! You will see though, that things have change, and all metal bunk beds now have something of interest in their designs, whether it’s vibrant colours, or curves and shapes, metal bunk beds are much more appealing then they used to be!
If you have a specific design idea, and a metal bunk bed is compatible, then you’re onto a winner, as you will save money, and get the look you want to achieve. Also if you have set a budget, then a metal bunk bed is definately the way to go.
Tough and Durable
Metal bunk beds are very tough and will last for years. In fact, the only thing you have to watch out for is scratching of the paintwork, as this can expose the bare metal allowing it to rust. Other than this slight issue – which can be ressolved by painting over any scratches – a quality metal bunk bed will last for years, and can be passed down to younger siblings as required. As with all beds, regular movement, can cause the joints to work lose, this happens with all beds, but is probably more noticeable with kids bunk beds, as they are often used as part of their play environment as well as their place of rest. A quick check, and tightening session will ensure that your metal bunk bed is returned to its original ridgidity.
